Orange and TP – official technology partners of UEFA EURO 2012™ - Orange Polska

During the European Football Championships 2012, Orange and TP will provide IT and communications infrastructure, fixed and wireless in Poland, to support the delivery of EURO 2012™.

“We are honoured that UEFA has placed its trust in Orange and TP to support its technological needs. The European Football Championships in Poland and Ukraine will not only be a great sports feast but is an opportunity for us to demonstrate the quality of our world-class network and service in Poland. We are committed to ensuring we meet all the needs of UEFA, journalists, our clients and customers of the EURO 2012™ so that we can be part of the solution to help deliver an outstanding experience of the events for all viewers and fans,” said Maciej Witucki, President of the TP Group.

Within the technology partnership framework, UEFA, Orange and TP will create a communications system linking the host cities, stadiums, hotels serving the UEFA representatives and Local Organizational Committees (the UEFA’s official EURO 2012™ company). The system will support transmissions from all TV cameras in Polish venues to UEFA’s many official broadcast partners at the International Broadcasting Center in Warsaw.

Leveraging our existing experience in providing tailor-made IT/communications services, including advanced end-to-end solutions integrating various systems and applications, Orange and TP will provide UEFA employees, journalists and commentators data-transmission, Internet-access and voice-communications (fixed, mobile, and IP) as well as help satisfy UEFA’s hardware requirements.

We already passed the first test, supporting the UEFA EURO 2012™ Qualifying Draw in Warsaw in February 2010 when we provided communications and data-transmission services for UEFA and for the media. This event was broadcast by over 100 TV stations around the world. In 2011, we will be creating a special lab to simulate the interoperation of the systems for the EURO 2012™ team in coordination, where necessary, with the systems of UEFA’s Ukrainian technology partners.

Thanks to at least two independent transmission paths, the communications network set up by Orange and TP will ensure uninterrupted communication with all EURO 2012™ sites under all conditions.
